Deacon Lyle Memorial Souperbowl Challenge
There were 7 soups competing for the coveted Deacon Lyle Trophy.
Special thanks to the winner of the 50-50 draw, Jessica, who donated the winnings to council.The winner of the soup challenge, by far, was the soup donated by our Program Director, Chris Burley.

KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS POSTER CONTEST WINNERSThis year we had a very good turnout from 3 schools, St Anne's, Sacred Heart and Gregory Hogan. Perhaps we can expand in 2025!I'm happy to report that all 3 schools produced winning entries and they received a Knights of Columbus certificate and a gift card.Thanks to brothers Peter Stoesser and Dino De Carolis and Lidia who did all the heavy lifting.Thanks and blessings also to our local Staples store manager for helping us with product and to keep our costs manageable.

History
Founded on June 9, 1909, Council 1429 was established initially to a council in Port Huron, Michigan. Our chapter has been serving this community for many generations.Named for past-member William E. P
rentice, Council 1429 Charity supports several causes. Some of the causes we support include raising money for local food banks such as the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the Inn of the Good Shepherd, the city-wide Stuff the Bus, Coats for Kids and Scholarships for High School students in Sarnia. We also partner with and raise funds for the parish churches, elementary and high schools. As well as supporting local charities, council members are involved in activities that support The Arthritis Society and Special Olympics OntarioOver time, several parishes housed their own councils which leaves Council 1429 with Our Lady of Mercy, Sacred Heart, St. Joseph and St. George parishes.
